“You” funny songs collection
“Thunder Thighs” this really funny parody came about when I was working in hospitality in 1997. The Eagles greatest hits album would play over and over again (no problem, as I LOVE the Eagles). Every time “Lyin’ Eyes” would play, I’d get the idea for the chorus (you can’t hide your thunder thighs). Eventually, after months bouncing around my head, I sat down and rewrote the song, with the reaction of everyone I played it to being 100% positive…
Among my other favourites funny songs are:
- “Gonnorrhea” (again, “Mama Mia” was just begging for it)
- “The Little Old Lady with Emphysema” (I’ve never liked cigarette smoke and can’t think of anything more stupid to do than smoking);
- “It’s Only Rohypnol (But I Like It)” – this came about through a conversation in a pub about drug-related issues that would make a good parody – and the original song by the Rolling Stones was perfectly sleazy for the subject;
- “Fully Sick Car” is an ode to the multitude of young European males trying to prove their manhood through the “hotting up” of otherwise quite ordinary cars, then driving them slowly down busy streets with “doof-doof” rap music playing at full volume in order to impress SOMEONE;
- “High Maintenance” was the beginning of a trend for me in that, from the first album onwards, I decided that the final song on every album I do will be a funny parody of an AC/DC song. Who knows, I may eventually learn how to play a guitar solo HALF AS WELL as Angus Young; he’s AWESOME!!
There’s more to come on the 3rd album; some of the titles include “Amputee” (from Tom Petty’s “Refugee”), “Hijacking A Jetplane” (from John Denver’s “Leaving On A Jetplane”), and the latest AC/DC parody is “Jailbait”, from (of course) “Jailbreak”.
