Degen, the Melbourne entertainer known as “You”

Musically, I have been playing guitar for 22 years, bass guitar for 20 years and singing since I started talking!! In the early 90’s, was in a band that played alongside such Aussie acts as The Screaming Jets, Ratcat, Crowded House and The Living Daylights.

I’ve been writing parodies of songs for 26 years and now have two albums selling online and am recording the third as we speak.

Throughout my life, my constant and recurring passion is and has been music. Love playing it, parodying it and performing it. It’s a great deal of fun and gives people a lot of pleasure.

I feel that what I do makes me the perfect corporate comedian and entertainer.

So what’s funny about me??

Well, this is a hard one to answer, as I don’t get to see myself from an objective point of view.

I suppose that I have a gift with words and can write funny parody songs, tell lots of funny jokes, etc. I also have a ridiculously good memory for quotes, jokes and song lyrics.

As well as this, people have been telling me, since high school, that I should be a comedian, so I must be doing SOMETHING funny!!

What do I like to do?

Well, I love music (listening and playing), sport (cricket, tennis, rugby union), keeping fit (mainly by running), travelling and partying. And, of course, entertaining people!!

Something personal that makes me interesting and funny at the same time?? I’ve wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on women, food and alcohol; the rest I’ve squandered!!
